How to install Memcached in Ubuntu/ Linux?

Memcache is a high performance memory object caching system. To install Memcached and the related libraries in Ubuntu or debian based linux distributions


$ sudo apt-get install memcached

After installation, you can see the memcache daemon running in the background


$ ps aux|grep memcache
nobody   29635  0.0  0.1  43880   556 ?        Sl   Sep17   0:00 /usr/bin/memcached -m 64 -p 11211 -u nobody -l 127.0.0.1
