How to install Vim in Ubuntu?

If you are a command line fan, you must have definitely heard about the vim editor. To install vim in Ubuntu, you can follow the following steps. Ubuntu comes bundled with vi editor. But Vim is vi Improved and has lots of additional features


$ sudo apt-get install vim vim-gnome vim-tiny vim-gtk vim-nox

It takes approximately 40MB of data transfer. Now simply specify the file name with the command vim


$ vim file_name
